Aba Restaurant

$$$$ // Mediterranean Food // South Congress

Denver and I just had a little date night at Aba off South Congress a year ago, and I was so skeptical of the price but OH MY GOSH WAS IT DELICIOUS. The outdoor patio itself is a stunner and jaw-dropping, but then the food and drinks are truly a level above.

Paying $15 for hummus might murder my soul, but it was so good I literally closed my eyes while I ate to soak it in. If you want a lovely evening dinner on a beautiful patio, this is just the best most amazing spot to make that happen.

Oseyo Austin

$$$ // Korean & Cocktails // East Austin

Denver and I had Oseyo for the first time ever during COVID, and boy did it absolutely not disappoint. Not only were the cocktails DELICIOUS (10/10 get one of the sake cocktails, so good) but the food was just…amazing. Absolutely delicious. They had these tacos on special which I would 100% get again a million times. Also, the prices are reasonable for the portion size and quality!

It’s perfect for a more laid-back date night, but when you know you want a HIGH-quality meal.

Olamaie

$$$$ // Southern Comfort // Downtown Austin

Firstly, if you go then you MUST try their biscuits. It’s like the Cracker Barrel biscuits but 100x better. Olamaie has one of my favorite outdoor patios and is the perfect spot for a patio cocktail when the weather is beautiful. Incredible southern-style food for someone that might be a picky eater (aka me).

Lenoir Restaurant

$$$ // Rotating Menu Available // South Austin

Okay OKAY I have to say Lenoir is THE SINGLE MOST ROMANTIC restaurant I have ever seen in Austin. Or ever. Their outdoor wine patio (with a killer happy hour by the way) is stunning and features beautiful gardens and fire pits. This little indoor house-turned-restaurant is cozy and perfect for a cozy date night with someone you love. Plus, the menu is constantly regarded to be one of the best in Austin, with an affordable prix-fix three-course menu.

Happy Hour // Tuesday to Sunday 5:00pm – 6:30pm w/ $5 wines & $3 beers

Eberly

$$$ // American, Bar, Brunch // South Lamar

While not your typical string lights & cozy tables & Italian food kind of romantic, I think Eberly has a whole different romantic charm worth noting! Their interior is absolutely stunning, featuring multiple old New York style bars, eclectic seating, and a beautiful greenhouse dining area. If you’re looking for the perfect date restaurant that is a little less over the top romantic and more unique, Eberly is a MUST.

Happy Hour // Tuesday to Friday + Sun, Mon All Night w/ $7 cocktails, $7 wines, and $5 beers

Juliet Italian

$$$ // Italian, Cocktails, Desserts // South Lamar

Rare to find a restaurant that is all-around amazing, but Juliet absolutely does just that. A stunning outdoor patio, a beautiful romantic interior, a great happy hour, killer cocktails, delicious food, AND at reasonable prices. This is absolutely one of the best and most romantic spots for you and your date! Honestly betting this is where I will take Denver!

Happy Hour // Daily 3pm-7pm with $5 wines, beers, & cocktails

Justine’s Brasserie

$$$ // French Restaurant // East Austin

Justine’s is old-school Moulin Rouge Paris vibes, but in Texas. If you aren’t looking to spend a ton of money, but do want to enjoy some drinks and dancing and a night of pretending to be somewhere else then you should absolutely try Justine’s. Throw on your little black dress and some heels and do something different for the night! I absolutely love the gorgeous tents in this spot, one of the coolest romantic restaurants in Austin in my opinion.

Uchi or Uchiko

$$$$ // Japanese, Sushi // Uchi in North Austin or Uchiko in South Austin

Tyson Cole, the chef at Uchi, is highly regarded as one of the best and it absolutely shows in his dishes. Not one of the cheapest option on this list, by far, but absolutely a unique food experience with incredible sushi options perfect for those that love to try new foods. A date night favorite, Uchi absolutely fills up fast and make sure you make a reservation ASAP if you’re interested! Also, check out their sister restaurant, Uchiko!

Happy Hour // Daily from 5pm – 6:30pm w/ $3 to $7 Sakes and Wine, Appetizers start at $4

Il Brutto

$$$ // Italian & Pizza Restaurant // East Austin

Another amazing Italian gem on the East Side of Austin! I am a sucker for their gorgeous outdoor patio, and their indoor seating is just as stunning. It’s a great spot to do a romantic date night dinner and then head to some of the amazing East Side bars right afterwards. Their cocktails were also great and boozy, which I am always a fan of!

Happy Hour // Weekdays 5pm – 7pm w/ half off cocktails

Josephine House

$$ // American Steakhouse // Clarksville

This little Clarksville gem is the perfect spot for a romantic brunch or lunch! They have plenty of All Day options available as well, but honestly their earlier meals are my favorite here. If you don’t have a reservation for one of the other gems on this list, then head to a beautiful lunch at Josephine’s with your babe!

Happy Hour // Monday to Saturday 3pm – 5pm w/ half off food, $2 off drinks

Juniper

$$$ // Italian // East Austin

We went to Juniper for Austin Restaurant Week in 2021 for the first time, and had a GREAT Experience! It’s a cute little East Side Italian restaurant with a gorgeous interior and outdoor patio. Incredibly romantic for date night + they even gave us complimentary sparkling wine to celebrate our anniversary. The food was delicious (10/10 recommend the Cacio e Pepe) and worth the $50 per person cost. My only complaint is that the cocktails are beyond pricy at about $18 a cocktail. So go for the wine instead!

Birdie’s Wine Bar

$$$ // American Restaurant // East Austin

A newer restaurant in Austin and instantly a well known and awarded restaurant! They’re primarily a wine bar, so perfect for a little wine night date night, but also known for their incredible restaurant and food! Their menu has multiple different style plates from small to medium to large, and the prices range from $10 ish for small plates to $15-$30 for bigger plates.

The Comedor Austin

$$$ // Modern Mexican // Downtown Austin

My desire to travel into Downtown Austin is pretty much always zero, so if there’s a spot on any list that is in Downtown Austin you know its going to be good and I’m going to actually consider it worth it. Comedor is one of those restaurants! Their interior is stunning, modern, and a gorgeous addition to Austin, while their food is just as interesting and delicious. Their bone marrow tacos deserve to be raved about, and the rest of the menu comes close to that level. HIGHLY recommend!

Thanks for checking out this list of romantic restaurants in Austin for date night! These beautiful restaurants are the perfect combination of stunning interior decor, beautiful patios, romantic lighting, and delicious foods! I absolutely recommend them all, and no matter which you pick you’ll have a great night with someone you love.

Wow can’t believe v-day is already around the corner.
The missus and I usually celebrate with a feast of pizza rolls and a bottle of pepto. But maybe this year we’ll spice it up a bit! Reminds me of our first date. We first saw each other at the ophthalmologist… I guess you could say it was love at first sight. Well after I got my prescription, I realized my mistake but by then it was too late and we’ve been “happily” married ever since.
