This best brunches in Austin post is, without a doubt, one of my most requested posts since I started this blog! I love that you guys love a good brunch spot as much as I do, and I took so long writing this one because I wanted to make sure I LOVED and vouched for every single brunch spot in Austin on this list.
But I have a disclaimer! This “Best” list is full of spots that are the best for MANY reasons. Some have the best food, some the best atmosphere, some the best healthy options, some the best mimosa deals, and also some are the best for you man who is going to complain about spending $20 on some fancy eggs.
But whatever you want to find the best of, I am willing to bet it’s here!

Bird Bird Biscuit
$ // Handmade Biscuits // Mueller Austin
Best Brunch For // Something easy and on the go, or if you aren’t SUPER hungry!
Putting this first because this is the spot I go to on the reg! I love their biscuits (the Bird Bird Bacon is my go-to) when I am not feeling starved but want something substantial and easy. No need to wear your Sunday best, and it’s perfect if you want to stop by the Mueller Farmers Market right before or after.
Sawyer & Co
$$ // Louisiana Style Brunch // East Austin
Best Brunch For // Affordable Brunch Basics & Also Gumbo
If you want the kind of no-frills brunch that your Southern dad (lol me) would love, then this is great! Tons of brunch basics at GOOD prices with no frilly fancy fluff. I love heading here when I know everywhere else in the world will have a huge line. Also a fan of the cajun style options!
Bangers Brunch
$$ // German Beer Garden // Rainey St. Downtown
Best Brunch For // Large groups, live music, German sausages, and a Manmosa!
Probably the most beloved brunch in Austin, and also one of the bests. Their menu is filled with plenty of meaty German-style options if you want something to go along with your manmosa (which is the reason this spot is so loved in the first place). This is my favorite spot to bring out-of-towners before a Sunday Funday on Rainey!
MAKE SURE you arrive before 10am or else you have a minimum 2-hour wait!!!!
They also happen to be on my Best Breweries & Beer Gardens in Austin list for their killer beer selection!
Waltons Fancy & Staple
$$ // Baked Goods & Deli Options // Downtown Austin
Best Brunch For // Baked Goods & Pastries, Deli Style Options
I usually end up here when I know everything else will be full with a line! I love that they have simple options with no frills, and delicious pastries when you just want that. It’s also cute as heck and doubles as a plant shop so that’s a selling point for me! A go-to for work brunches as well since my office is around the corner.
Most pastries, but their staple brunch option alone would get it on my list for one of the best brunches in Austin!
Hillside Pharmacy
$$ // Healthy Brunch // East Austin
Best Brunch For // Healthy Vegan + Vegetarian options
This cutie in East Austin is the perfect spot if you need a brunch option where you KNOW they’ll have options for all kinds of eaters (plenty of vegan/vegetarian/whole30 options)! Whether you want something more on the healthy side, or you want to stuff your face with bread (me), this is it. Also, it’s cute as heck.
It also happens to be on my Best Healthy Restaurants in Austin post!
Suerte
$$$ // Mexican-style Brunch // East Austin
Best Brunch For // Something fancy after a big event, INCREDIBLE food
I recently got to have Suerte for brunch and wow oh wow was I mindblown, it totally lived up to the hype. They have a much shorter brunch menu, so I would not recommend for picky eaters, but if you have someone that is a foodie then this is the kind of spot they will ADORE. Head over here if you want a special meal with food that will blow your mind.
Out of all the best brunches in Austin, this absolutely wins for most incredible meal.
Eberly Brunch
$$$ // American Style Brunch // South Lamar
Best Brunch For // American-style brunch with a beautiful atmosphere, Special Events
In general, I think Eberly is one of the most beautiful restaurants in Austin (also why it’s on my Austin Date Night restaurants list) and it just so happens to have an incredible brunch too.
This is the kind of brunch spot I would take my family to when they come into town, or where I would go with a birthday brunch with friends. It is not cheap, but the food is amazing and the atmosphere is unbeatable!
24 Diner
$$ // Diner Brunch // Downtown Austin
Best Brunch For // A classic diner-style meal with amazing eggs and even better chicken & waffles
24 Diner is the best place to go for a southern comfort kind of brunch! Think delicious eggs, chicken and waffles heaven, and all the biscuits you could dream of. Definitely one of the best brunches in Austin for a good diner meal.
Another destination I love bringing my parents to, especially my dad. There’s definitely going to be a wait, but you can hit up Waterloo Records while you wait!
Kerby Lane Cafe
$$ // Pancakes & Kerby Queso // Multiple Locations
Best Brunch For // Austin Classics & Pancakes & Hangover Food
Kerby is, of course, an Austin staple. Known for their Kerby Queso more than anything (and boy does it live up to the hype), but their pancakes are also incredible. This is my go-to after a night out on 6th street, and it’s one of the best spots to hit if you want a little bit of authentic Austin before you leave!
Patika Coffee Shop
$$ // Coffee Shop // South Lamar
Best Brunch For // Pastries & Lighter Bites
Patika in Austin recently launched their newer brunch menu and it’s an automatic hit! Delicious coffee, delicious pastries, and lots of yummy brunch options. We got different bowls which were all great, and highly recommend trying all the various items.
June’s All Day Brunch
$$ // Classic American Brunch // South Congress
Best Brunch For // Hella Cute Would Take Mom Here
June’s has always been one of my favorite for happy hour (as are all these Austin Happy Hour spots), but it also makes the list for having a killer brunch! The space is incredibly cute, which makes it perfect when you want to do a girls brunch, and the food is just as amazing as the interior
Mattie’s Austin
$$$ // Upscale Brunch // South Congress
Best Brunch For // Something Upscape & Fancy, Special Events, Patio Season
I have only had brunch at Mattie’s once, and it was when my mom came to town because lord knows I cannot afford this on my own. But the incredible food was worth the price, and honestly, the patio alone is worth the price. If you’re looking for a special occasion brunch, then this is the best of the best brunches in Austin.
Also, I will argue their patio is one of the best in Austin, and you can find it and many more on my 20 Best Patios in Austin Guide!
Taco Deli
$ // Breakfast Tacos // Multiple Locations
Best Brunch For // Breakfast Tacos!!!!!
I’ve had my fair share of breakfast tacos after six years of living in Austin, and I always go back to Taco Deli as my one true taco love. They have so many locations in Austin you’re definitely not at a shortage, so pick one close to you and enjoy the beauty that is the breakfast taco.
I guess it technically is more best breakfast tacos in Austin, but I’m counting it as one of the best brunches in Austin too! I’m a bacon, egg, and cheese kinda girl myself!
La Condesa
$$$ // Tex-Mex Brunch // Downtown
Best Brunch For // Tex-Mex style Brunch & Killer Mimosa/Bloody Mary Deals
Firstly, outside of the Park, I would argue La Condesa has the best mimosa/bloody deals in addition to one of the best brunches and that’s a stinkin’ hard feat!! It’s about $2 each during brunch hours (11am to 3pm weekends only), and also happens to be walking distance from my apartment JUST SAYIN’.
Secondly, their brunch is truly fantastic. A unique menu you won’t find elsewhere in Austin with Tex-Mex style brunch options such as Migas and Huevos Rancheros and so so much more. I love this if you’re doing brunch at like…noon-ish and you’re thinking fewer eggs more sustainable food.
Cafe No Se
$$$ // Small Plates Brunch // South Congress
Best Brunch For // Brunch x Lunch Crossover, Special Occasion
Definitely the kind of spot you take your parents or your best friend from out of town! It’s more a special occasion spot and meals are more the expensive end, but it’s perfect for a lunch/brunch crossover that leans a little more on the filling side.
I got the cowboy breakfast and liked their take on something normally simple, Sophie got the french toast and raved about it!
Thanks for checking out our Best Brunches in Austin post! I hope you found something you were looking for: whether it was a cute patio, delicious breakfast tacos, a good mimosa deal, or a place to bring your parents while they’re in town. Either way, Austin has some amazing brunch spots and it’s worth checking them out!
